Over-optimizing and Wasting Time
Today I spent an unreasonable amount of time optimizing my RSS feed ingestion and reading system. It involves at a minimum the following:
- Neomutt
- mbsync
- msmtp
- urlscan
- Emacs
- Vieb (Oddball web browser)
It's held together with spit and tape but it works almost exactly how I want. There's a certain frantic satisfaction I get from optimizing my workflow that almost nothing matches. I don't know which kind of psychosis that is an indication of but I have it for sure. I really need to organize my pile of dotfiles. All my computers always have 3/4 of the dotfiles I want and the other 1/4 are always a surprise and a hassle.
